Research Interests

Interested in understanding the brain's sensory and motor system, the machinery that enables us to affect our environment and take active participation in life. The interest is both fundamental, directed at uncovering new insights but also (where possible) applied, in that the knowledge gathered can be put to use and assist people with their lives. Brain-computer interfaces are a good tool, both in the study of the brain, and in the application of this knowledge. In the area of rehabilitation, for example, neuroprosthetics are being developed to help people with movement related problems. But also elsewhere BCI's will become relevant and allow for making use of the knowledge we have about the brain. Contributing to this process is a worthwhile mission.
