Rachel Hibbs, DPT is a clinical research therapist in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.   She earned a B.S. in Rehabilitation Science and certificate in Pathokinesiology from the University of Pittsburgh in 2010 and completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Pittsbugrh in 2013. She spent 4 years in clinical practice at UPMC Rehabilitation Institute Spinal Cord Injury Unit and 1 year at  the Cleveland Louis Stokes VA Medical Center Spinal Cord Inury Service.  Her clinical and research interests include seating and wheeled mobility, postural control, ambulation in incomplete SCI, and upper limb preservation in primary wheelchair users.

Research Interests

Dr. Hibbs has interest in research related to seating and wheeled mobility for individuals with spinal cord injury and other physical disabilities to decrease the impact of secondary impairments and improve quality of life.
