Scott is a PhD student in the department of bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh. He graduted from the University of Maryland, College Park with a B.S. in bioengineering. He then obtained an M.S. in biomedical engineering focused in neural engineering and an M.S. in computer and electrical engineering focused in signal and image processing and machine learning from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
